Music

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir offers music leadership for the 11:00 worship service and special music presentations throughout the year. It rehearses on Wednesday evenings, and is the nucleus of the Combined Choir.

Women's Ensemble

A select group of women vocalists provide music for worship and at special events in the church and community.

Combined Choirs

Combined choirs provide special music at Christmas, Easter, Independence Day and at other seasons. Rehearsals are short term, and all singers who are 7th grade or older are invited to participate. Membership in another choir is not required for participation.

Youth Choir

Junior and senior high students (grades 7-12) form the Youth Choir which rehearses weekly during the school term, and provides special music on a regular basis in worship. This spring the choirs will be rehearsing Stephen Schwartz' musical "Children of Eden" with performances in May.  The year will culminate in a summer tour in June to San Antonio, TX.

Kidz' praiZe

The Ministry of Music offers a graded choir program for children in kindergarten through 6th grade. These choirs rehearse weekly during the school term, and participants are also introduced to additional arts activities like tone chimes, flutaphone and children's theater. The younger children present a Christmas pageant for the Festival of Advent, and the older participants prepare a musical to offer in the spring.

Fourth Quarter Singers

Older adults (55+) rehearse weekly on a seasonal basis and perform at Fourth Quarter Club meetings, in worship, at area nursing homes, and other community locations. Previous singing experience and music reading skills are not required.

This larger handbell choir is designed for adults and youth who have a minimum of 6 months ringing experience. The choir rings regularly in worship and rehearses weekly during the school year.

Joyful Handbell Ensemble

This small group of advanced ringers rehearses weekly from fall to spring. The ensemble is designed for ringers who are comfortable with or have a desire to learn multiple bell techniques.

Hallelujah Handbells

This choir for students in grades 7-12 requires a minimum of 6 months previous experience. The group rings in worship and on special occasions and rehearses once a week during the school year.

PraiZe Ringers

This beginning handbell choir for children in grades 5 and 6 rehearses weekly following Kidz' praiZe. The primary intent is for teaching, but the choir occasionally rings at special events. No previous ringing experience is required for participants.

Beginning Handbells

This small group of youth and/or adults learns basic ringing techniques with the hope that participants will move into one of the ongoing choirs. Previous experience is not necessary, and the weekly rehearsals are held on a short term basis.

each year.
