At First United Methodist Church, we recognize the importance of everyone being plugged into a ministry or service opportunity to become connected in the body of Christ.   Each one of us are called to be part of a fellowship and to serve one another as Christ served us.  Won't you prayerfully consider one of the following ministry needs and give of your prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness?
 
  • Audio Visual Technical Assistant - Assist with sound and video screens on Sunday mornings.  Training provided.  Contact Jeff Clack at 932-7479 or Ellen Pollock at epollock@fumcjonesboro.org  
  • Wednesday Fellowship Meal Server  - Serve and clean up at the 5 pm Fellowship Meal on Wednesdays.  Time commitment: 4:30pm-7pm, once per month.  Contact Jo Ann Norman at janorman@suddenlink.net, or Ellen Pollock at epollock@fumcjonesboro.org
  • Parking Pals - Provide assistance in parking, directions and street crossings for members and visitors on Sunday mornings and special events.   Time commitment: Before and after 9:40am worship hour, once per quarter.  Contact Jeff Fielder at jtf.1@netzero.net, or Ellen Pollock at epollock@fumcjonesboro.org
  • Green First - Collect recyclables on campus and deliver to recycle centers.  Time commitment: Once per month.  Contact Kathy Johnson at kjohnson@fumcjonesboro.org
  • Hugs 'N Mugs Volunteer - Deliver a mug to a first time visitor after church on Sundays.  Time commitment: Once every 2 months.  Contact Ellen Pollock at epollock@fumcjonesboro.org
  • Holy Grounds - Coffee Ministry. Making coffee for the FLC area on designated Sunday mornings. Time commitment would be 4 Sundays in one year. Contact Lynn Bruner at mbruner6@swbell.net or Ellen Pollock at epollock@fumcjonesboro.org for more information.
  • Women's Crisis Center - Babysitting needed to help residents with children while they attend a doctors appointment or court date.  Time commitment:  on a "as needed" basis.  Contact Ellen Pollock at epollock@fumcjonesboro.org to find out more!
  • Craighead County Womens Prison Ministry - Participate in a worship service developed to give inmates a touch of the Savior.  Time commitment:  On Wednesday evenings twice a month. Not required to attend both times in a month.  Team development in process to rotate volunteers.    Contact Ellen Pollock at epollock@fumcjonesboro.org to begin the application process.
